Satin-finish polyester/cotton fabric (200 thread count) on top, with a waterproof backing underneath.

The fitted sheet is waterproof: it has a waterproof backing under the satin. The 2 pillowcases are matching satin pillowcases.
Does it feel like plastic?
No. You lie on smooth satin. The waterproof backing is underneath, against the mattress.
Will it make me hot?
Satin feels cool and smooth when you lie down. Like any waterproof sheet, the backing doesn't breathe like plain cotton, so if you run very hot, keep the rest of your bedding light.
